Scilab Books

Scicoslab includes Scilab and its Scicos block graphical editor, with a special emphasis on modeling and simulation tools. The first part is a detailed Scilab tutorial, and the second is dedicated to modeling and simulation of dynamical systems in Scicos.

Topics: General information, Introduction, Modelling and Simulation in Scilab, Optimization, Examples, Scicos, Scicos Formalism, Scicos Blocks, Applications, Batch Processing, Code Generation, Debugging, Implicit Scicos and Modelica, Inside Scicos, Coding Examples.

The book provides an overview of Scilab and includes an introductory, description of Scilab's programming language, syntax, useful functions, and graphics. Also described is how users can extend the functionality of Scilab by integrating custom Fortran and C programs as new Scilab primitives.

Topics: the Scilab Package, Language, Graphics, Advanced Programming, Tools, Signal Processing, Simulation and Optimization Tools, Scicos - a Dynamical System Builder and Simulator, Symbolic/numeric Environment, Graph and Network Toolbox.

Dr. Urroz is an expert on the HP 48 G and HP 49 G series calculator, and on specialized mathematical software such as Maple and Scilab. He has written several books on applications of these computing devices and software to disciplines such as engineering mechanics, hydraulics, and science and engineering mathematics.

The text can be used to parallel courses in calculus, linear algebra, numerical analysis and statistics. Examples are presented in an order compatible with the order in which they would appear in the associated math course, not just in order of Scilab implementation complexity.
